Post-Graduation Life

So I graduated last week! It was a LONG ceremony because we had over 700 graduates and I was number 689. That's what I get for marrying someone with the last name, "Wilcox." Joseph and I have been pretty busy lately. My parents came out from Wisconsin to visit and we had a blast. They arrived late Tuesday night and we went out to dinner. Then Wednesday, we went to the Bean Museum at BYU, drove up to Bridal Veil Falls, and enjoyed playing Parcheesi at our home. Thursday and Friday were graduation festivities. Here are some highlights.

This is my parent's dog who made the journey to visit Utah. She was so tired from being outside all day long. She could barely keep her eyes open.

On Wednesday this week, Joseph and I took a day date to Salt Lake City. We went to Hogle Zoo, Welfare Square, and went to the new mall, City Creek Center. It was an awesome day and much needed break from finals/craziness. We saw TONS of cool animals. Joseph decided he wants a pet Rhino and will name him "Stampy."

I love spring time because all the baby animals are out and about. Baby geese were awesome!

We got to see the elephants eating their breakfast. It was crazy to watch them all eat.

This giraffe was being trained on how to get in the cage and out again. It was cool to watch the zookeepers training him.

Aside from that fun, we've been... PACKING! It is one of my favorite things in the entire world. Today we fit all our boxes into our storage unit and move out of our apartment on Monday. It's sad to say goodbye to this place as we've lived here for almost a year and a half. We like it a lot and LOVE our ward but Texas is going to be amazing too.

We have been called to labor...

Texas awaits our arrival in May! We finally found out where Dow wants Joseph to work and we are ready to go on an adventure to a new land. Much of the process of finding out where we’ll live felt like waiting for a mission call, or at least I think so.

Our destination is Bayport, TX but we will live in Kemah, Texas.

- Lion King Broadway- tickets are bought; we are going

- Fireworks every weekend on Kemah Boardwalk

- Visiting Houston (Zoo, Space Center, etc.)

- Visiting Louisiana to see my sister

- Visiting Oklahoma to see my brother

- Visiting family in Austin

- Getting tan

- Learning to surf

We are excited for the adventure!

Babies

Due to really nice weather the past few weeks, I have been able to bike to work. On my way to work, I pass MANY farms with animals ranging from llamas, sheep, and cows. This time of year, they all have little baby animals with them. So the other day, I took a ride to take pictures of them. I love baby animals!
The cows are normally along the gate but not this morning. Hopefully, I can get a better picture in the future!

The Suspense is Killing Me

I was hoping by now I would make this great blog post about where we're moving to this summer... but alas, I'm not. Even though DOW told us early March, it's been 2+ weeks and we're still in the blue as to where we're moving. But, DOW emailed us on Sunday essentially saying, "Be patient, young grasshopper." DOW doesn't know how impatient I am!

Aside from not knowing where we'll be living for three months this summer, I am ALMOST done with my internship. I have 2.5 weeks left and I graduate in less than a month! Hooray! Here are some pictures showing what we've been up to:

March Madness: I love March Madness. It's the only time a year that I get involved in basketball because otherwise, there's too many teams, games, etc. to pay attention to. This year, Joe let me play in his friend's league. My team is "Mighty Ducks" and I am pleased to announce I am in first place in a league full of guys who watch basketball all the time!We also made the bracket on our wall like last year again! I am so excited for the Sweet Sixteen games to start later this week.

Food: We both love eating food; who doesn't? But, because we're both students living on a student income (especially since I am not paid for my internship), we don't eat out much, if at all. This semester, Joe had two Chemical Engineering events that catered Cafe Rio food but because of glitches, Joe and I didn't get to eat much food. So we decided to go to Cafe Rio and finally eat some delicious food. This is my yummy salad! It was great to actually go out and not have any dishes to do after eating!


We've been pretty lazy lately (or more like Joseph has had TONS of school work to do) but once we hear where we're going, we'll let you know!
